I was first diagnosed with a kyphotic spine, a condition where the top of the spine curves, around 20 years ago. Rebecca recommended that I try Pilates, although it can’t reverse the curve in the spine, a Pilates targeted programme can help alleviate the symptoms by teaching how to release tight areas of the spine, improve awareness of alignment and strengthen the internal muscles that support and control the spine.


Regular Pilates exercises have alleviated my symptoms and now I live life free of back pain. I have taken many 1:1 Pilates sessions and have found that that gentle Pilates exercises can help me control my pain and maintain a good range of motion.


I would recommend Head over Heels Pilates to older people who wish to control symptoms of back pain, or those who simply want to strengthen their pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles and remain supple.
