My Story

IS PILATES FOR ME?



I wouldn’t exactly say that I’ve ever been a sports enthusiast; my school PE reports were abysmal and the chances of me ever making it onto the netball team were zero. Compulsory sports days always had my stomach in knots and I would skive off whenever possible – often endeavouring to fake a illness or a family crisis! So why, you may ask, would I decide to become qualified to teach pilates as an adult?

GOODBYE CELERY DIET

​

University came and went and I left adamant that the only way to stay in shape was to endure the monotonous treadmill week after week and live on a strict celery diet. Then, out of nowhere, an invitation to attend a lunchtime pilates class flashed up in my work inbox.

​

Having giggled my way through yoga classes in the past, I was dubious, but decided to give it a whirl with a few colleagues from the office brave enough to give it a go.



To my surprise, I absolutely loved it. Pilates seemed to require minimum exertion, but provided me with maximum results! After a few weeks I began to notice the difference.



FULL OF BEANS

Within a year I had improved in other sports as well as other classes too- something I wanted to continue, and I noticed my body changing for the better and my posture improving. 



I have now been a qualified instructor for over 12 years.......



​My core strength and overall stability has improved and I feel healthier and full of beans!
